In the Caribbean - some islands are called "food deserts" because they surprisingly import all of their food.  

 

Gardens can be hard to grow there because of the saline rain, and conventional greenhouses don't stand up to the hurricane force winds and other weather events that are common in these places. (making them difficult to insure)

Sprung Structures have and continue to stand up against these storms and provide a huge opportunity for island folk to grow their own food.
